MENOS É MAIS ARQUITECTOS
Cristina Guedes along with Francisco Vieira de Campos created their studio Menos é Mais in Oporto in 1994.
The ability to do more with less is its greatest asset, especially when resources are scarce. They try to make obvious the economy of means and the richness in the emotional involvement of the users. They received many awards, for example they were shortlisted for the Mies Van der Rohe Award in 2015 and the RIBA International Prize in 2016.
Both architects teach - Veira de Campos at FAUP and Gudes at FAAULP, and have been invited to be lecturers at Oporto Faculty of Architecture, Mendrisio Academy, ETH Zurich and TU Wien, among other schools. They have also been invited to international conferences, jury's awards, seminars and exhibitions all over the world.
In her lecture, architect Cristina Guedes will present the recent works by Portuguese office Ménos e Mais. She will talk about their designing principle and pragmatic response to a particular context.
